What is a Tummy Tuck ?
Abdominoplasty, commonly referred to as a tummy tuck, is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to make the abdomen appear firmer and smoother. It’s a popular choice among individuals who have excess skin or fat in the abdominal area, often resulting from pregnancy, aging, significant weight fluctuations, or previous surgery. The tummy tuck procedure involves making a horizontal incision in the area between the pubic hairline and belly button, through which weakened abdominal muscles are repaired and sutured, and excess fat, tissue, and skin are removed. In a full abdominoplasty, a second incision around the navel may be necessary to remove excess skin in the upper abdomen. The remaining skin is then repositioned to create a more toned look.
